Art Deco Platinum, Diamond and Sapphire Brooch, Cartier
The openwork tapered oval brooch topped by one square-cut sapphire, accented by 3 diamond-shaped sapphires spaced by 2 round sapphires, set throughout with 66 old European and single-cut diamonds approximately 3.05 cts., and 4 rose-cut diamonds, signed Cartier, no. 1399, circa 1920, approximately 4.8 dwts.
Diamonds: H-I-VS-SI.
Sapphires: deep vivid royal blue, square-shaped sapphire of bright blue hue, clean, minor table edge abrasions on small round sapphire, not visible to eye, very lively.
Good condition. Well-made. 1 x 1 11/16″.
